Winter has come unexpectedly... I don't like it. angry I always feel under stress because of its cold and frost... I've tried to unwind by usual ways - strong hot coffee with a little brandy, sweet music and my cat... Nothing helped untill I came here and decided to post some comments... To my great surprise I found myself involved in the process, forgetting the tension of the day. Dear Teacher, have you also planned to make this site one of the ways of coping with stress? smile

Ha-ha! smile I don't know why. To be honest, I also think that any kind of pleasnt and engrossing thinking or physical activity is a good way to harness stress. Though at times it rushes to the shores of your consciousness even when you are working. A lot depends on what we call 'inner harmony' with the sorrounding reality. For example, I have discovered one thing - the more you criticise and feel irritated, the more stressful you tend to be. Maybe I explains the idea of one of the projects I started with my students called 'City Life - Forget or Remember: Positive Thinking Through Positive Photography'. To see the world kind and happy is better that to see it full of anger and sadness.

Dear Private, to my mind the best way to relax is to do some sport. Skiing, skating, table tennis...Be active and don't let the stress absorb you! wink

Yepp, right you are, Lisa. I have been thinking about this strategy for a few days. I remeber the time when doing some sport or other physical activity helped to overcome great stress and depression. It took time, of course. Physiologically, when we load our organism with much exercise, it starts producing more oxygen, improves metabolism and draws out any negative energy that got into it for different reasons. Positive physical exercise tansmits powerful positive impulses that quickly get into the nervous system and make you fresh and happy.

to my mind the best way of coping with stress is communication. It doesn't matter with whom, but sometimes it rather interesting to meet new people, discuss some problems. While communicating you may listen to good calm music, drink coffee or tea.
As for me - being with my boyfriend is the best way to become calm and get positive emotions

I am a realist, it means that stress sometimes visits me((( to my mind the best way out is to love yourself. Perhaps it sounds egoistic but trully))) People work almost everyday and in weekends we need a REAL rest. It can be sleep or something else. I advise mussage, different kinds of spa. For sure it costs much money and spare time but it worthy doing))))

I want to tell about stress in our every day life. Stress is our reaction to a mess. It is the way our body and mind react to life’s changes. Not all stress is bad. A little stress can keep you on your toes. But, in the long term, it can put too much strain on our heart and cause headaches, depression, forgetfulness and low self-esteem. So, take control. We can take action when stress is created by something we can control. We can try to break tasks down into smaller “chunks”. If you can’t change your feelings, learn how to control your thoughts. Take slow, deep breaths and count to ten. Later, once you’ve calmed down, analyze the problem rationally. We, teachers, must find ways to handle our stress. For a start, doing something relaxing, such as going for a walk or for a coffee, will help to deal with negative emotions. Above all, try to keep a sense of humour and a positive attitude.
