Dear Netter! The RTEOC Second Seminar went well. As it had been planned, the seminar aimed at learning to use Forums for professional and personal needs. We learned to read Forum postings, to write replies, to start new topics (threads). All of these are an important tool to facilitate teaching English at schools. The first important condition was to understand and feel the idea of a living English Language Forum. We hope we have managed to achieve the aim of the seminar.
It's a pity that fewer people came and we hope that you will brief your colleagues on the results of the seminar so that they join our online discussions.
Another thing that became clear is that we need a better classroom with a faster access to the Internet, as the one in School 51 held up our work and made it very slow. It proves that the Internet, if it is going to be used, should be fast and reliable, otherwise it will never make learning effective and fruitful.
Our Next Seminar is planned for January 22, 2010. During this time we want you to become active forum users. Everyone is expected to write at least ten different postings to the Forums. Unless you start doing it regularly, you will never understand the advantages of online discussions. It's important to overcome the first confusion and fear that some of you experience.
If you have any questions, don't hesistate to contact us via email or write a message to the TeacherVoice site.
