SEMINAR 5 - SOCIAL NETWORKING AND INTERNET RESOURCES IN FL TEACHING

Our fifth seminar this year is scheduled for March 1. We all meet in school 51 at 4 p.m.
The main plan for the seminar:
- Case-studies: threaded forums and their basic content. Factors to consider
- Creating Blogs and Blog categoeis. Working the Blog content
- Designing the News page.
We will be happy to see you all at our seminar. You may also bring your friends and colleagues.

This Thursday, September, 29 2011, we will be waiting for you at school 51 for a new round of INTERNET for FOREIGN LANGUAGE LEARNNG project that we started three years ago. The first seminar of this year begins at 4 p.m. and will tease your minds until 6 p.m. A lot of things are there in our seminar discussions that, we all hope, will change your teaching styles forever.

RYAZAN FL TEACHERS AUGUST CONFERENCE

Dear Colleagues,

We would like to invite you all to the annual FL Teachers Conference on 25 August, 2011. The conference is scheduled to take place in school 51. We start at 10 a.m. and will enjoy professional discussions until 1 p.m. The agenda is quite broad, yet the main focus will be on maintaining online communities of teacher and pupils. The key presenters will also talk about 2011 Russian State Exam results, best classroom practices, online resources and the like.

We hope the conference will be a real boost for further innovations that our RTEOC members are so capable of.

I am inviting you all to start a new photo project called 'Summer Views and Opinions'. It is very simple.

1) Choose a photo taken this summer and upload it on the site in the PHOTO ALBUMS section in the menu.

2) Write a few sentences of the caption text.

3) When you see new photos, leave your comments.

Finally, at our August conference, we will give a briefing on the project.

BBC PODCAST - PROGRAMMES 1-2

As part of the Lesson Plans and Classroom Materials project, we have started uploading some BBC radio programmes that can be very useful for your students.

The readio programmes focus on culutre and inter-cultural communication.

Each programme has two file - an MP3 file and a pdf file with the script of the programme.

We hope these materials will help ypou design lessons on listening comprehension and develop listening activities to prepare your students for the Unified State Exam.

We also suppose that some of you can use these materials for a new elective course in listening comprehension and public speaking.

We are ready for discussions and we'll render every support that you may need.

EIGHTH TEACHER DEVELOPMENT SEMINAR ON INTERNET TECHNOLOGIES - APRIL 28, 2011

Dear Course Participants!

This is to inform you all that our next seminar is scheduled for April 28, 2011. The same venue and time - School 51, 4 p.m. Your main task is to start up your website.

Please, don't forget your logins to the control panel. Well, below is your homework.

First of all, decide upon the forums that you want to launch and initiate first discussions.

Secondly, decide what blogs you need and for what grades. Start two or three, that will be enough.

Thirdly, you should work on our site as well. Leave at least 5 messages in the forums.

Fourthly, as I announced before, send any of your materials to my email account. I will post them on the site under your names.

Finally, leave a few lines under the photos in the Photo Albums section.

IMPORTANT!

- It's a strong requirement for you all to do all of the hometasks that I have described.

- When the time of certificates comes, I will have to consider your overall efforts during the course.

- While time allows, look through all of the announcements of our seminars for the hometasks that you may have missed.

- Undone homework will make it impossible to issue a certificate!

SEVENTH TEACHER DEVELOPMENT SEMINAR ON INTERNET TECHNOLOGIES - MARCH 31, 2011

Dear Course Participants!
March 31 invites every one of you to come to school 51 (Ryazan) by 4 p.m. for the 7th TD seminar on Website-based teaching strategies. The programme includes the following itmes:
1) Discussing your own web sites to create which was your 'homework'. Please, if you haven't yet created your sites, make haste. Mare sure you remember your logins and passwords for the control panel.
2) Exploring the control panel options
3) Creating forum, forum sections, threads and distributing user rights
4) Creating blogs and blog categories
The start-uo of your site is the most important result of the TDC for you.
Finally, we plan to discuss with you all the future of RYAZELTA - Ryazan English Language Teachers' Association
