Tourism became a very profitable business because people are ready to spend their money for the great opportunity to have a great time learning about new countries, going sightseeing, resting and enjoing themselves.

If we are fond of travelling we see and learn all sorts of things we can never see or learn at home.I enjoy all kinds of travelling very much.

I spend my holidays in travelling.I always take a camera with me and photograph everything that interests or pleases me: the sights of a city, views of mountains, lakes, valleys, castles, palaces, churches. Some years later that will remind me of the happy time that I had.

Thousands of people travel every day either on business or for pleasure. They can travel by air, by train, by car.Of course, travelling by air is the fastest and the most convenient way, but it is the most expensive too.

Travelling - it's cool. Most of all I like to touch the culture of different countries, practice my English. I'd like to listen to the opinions of those who travel very often. What country is the most interesting to visit and why? The other question is of course about price of trip. Which trip is cheaper but the most interesting?

As far as we are teachers of English first of all we should visit Great Britain and other English-speaking countries. But the country I'm crazy about is Holland or the Netherlands. I've been there three times and now I'm dreaming about the next visit. One of the most surprising things is that Holland is nearly the same size as our Ryazan region but every centimeter of it is a masterpiece created not by nature (like in Russia) but by people. The Dutch are very hardworking.

We enjoy travelling by car. Last summer we visited our relatives in Estonia. We started our journey in Ryazan and then we went through Moscow, Smolensk, Narva, Tartu and arrived in Tallinn. It’s one of our favourite cities in the world. But it wasn’t the finish of our journey. We continued travelling by car using one of the biggest ferry «Viking Line» (it looks like a huge sailing seven-storied house). We ferried across the Baltic Sea and saw the capital of Finland – Helsinki. It was really unforgettable journey! We did about three thousand kilometers, saw a lot of interesting places for a short time and took a lot of photos.
And do you like travelling by car? Where have you been?

Natalie, the photo is great. As for travelling by car I can't that I enjoy doing very long drives. Cars are very convenient when you go through the town or out of town but not too far. We've gone to the Black Sea by car twice. Both times I couldn't get rid of the constant feeling of anxiety. It was connected with the risk to have an accident and also with the problem of "road racketeers" devil (you know whom I'm talking about). So I prefer to take a train and enjoy its special atmosphere and unforgetable sounds of wheels. rolleyes

I quite agree with you. I'm fond of travelling. It doesn't matter in what way: by car or by train, by bus or on foot! I've never travelled by plane but I'm eager to do it! Travelling is cool, isn't it?

I am also, like the other members of our teachers' community, fond of travelling. Because, to my mind, travels not only allow us to come closer to the culture and cultural legacy of different people, but also, it's a brilliant way to get good practice of a language.
In 2009 I spent the whole month in Germany, practising the language, and travelling a lot. It was a fantastic and unforgettable experience! There I improved my language, met people from all over the world, visited many European cities and just had a wonderful time there.

Traveling is very interesting. To stay at home is very boring. I want to visit a lot of cities. I prefer to travel by bus. You can see sights and stop everywhere.

I think modern life is impossible without travelling. People usually travel on business or for pleasure. We can travel by air, by rail, by sea or by land. The fastest travelling is by air. To my mind it is the most convenient and expensive way. Travelling by train has advantages. You must see much more interesting places of the country. Travelling by sea is popular mostly for pleasure trips. Large ships can visit foreign countries. As for me I prefer travelling by car or by bus. I can stop wherever I wish and look at what I want. I have a lot of friends. They like to travel by car too. How do you prefer travelling? Do you want to visit different places of our large country?

It is my dream - to travel over the country by car, stopping in interesting places. But there are many problems: it is rather dangerous, I’m too busy, besides hotels and food need much money, I suppose.
