It's a pity not all teachers of English have got the opportunity to use the Internet during their lessons at school. But a great number of schoolchildren have computers at home and are able to use the Internet. So, they can go to a particular website and do some exercises online to drill a particular grammar phenomenon. But the resources should be chosen carefully according to the age and level of pupils.

Yes, it sounds strange that teachers often lag behind their students and don't want to invest time into exploring available Internet resources and means for teaching grammar. I know many sites that offer a lot of theoretical and practical things. Can you advise any Internet Grammar resources and recommendations for use? Which ones are your favourite?

Many resources can be found, but the best I've used are German ones. The level of grammar and vocabulary they offer varies, so they can be used by schoolchildren of different age and reach. For example, www.ego4u.com is a website where simple grammar explanations, online tests and quizzes can be found.

Thanks for the URL. I have explored the site and I also think it is a good teaching resource. Can you share with us what, how and when you use this resource in your lessons? Do you use the materials in the lesson with your students or motivate your students to use it from homes? How do they use the site? How do you supoervise their learning?

http://www.englishlearner.com is also worth using. The site is devoted to grammar tests and quizzes at various levels. It also presents vocabulary material and resources for teachers of English (warmers, writing and speaking activities, etc). Besides our pupils can have listening practice on-line and subscribing to this site they can start E-mailing with other learners thus developing their productive skills.

Dear Uchilka! We are happy that you have managed to integrate the resource into your teaching. I think everyone would like to learn how you did it, what you planned, how much time it took, how the students worked, whether it was useful for the pupils. Could you send your lesson plan to our forum or my email account at v.kruchkov@rsu.edu.ru Or instead of the lesson plan just write the teching recommendations and the steps you took. Thanks.

You can also look through http://englishgrammar101.com. It provides online grammar exercises, tests, quizzes, and lessons. You can either let your students do the tasks online or print them out. The range of grammar topics is really wide. I suggest you visit it and post your comments.

Dear Teacher and colleagues! Could you really share your own ideas how to use different web sites, for example, http://englishgrammar101.com. , at lessons? Let’s have an additional seminar and discuss the topic «USEFUL LINKS». Can anybody present the system of such work at the lesson? Thanks beforehand.

Dear Natalie! Your request is really an urgent matter. It is important to know as many Internet resources as possible. However for teahcers it is even more important to work out an effective system for using them in teaching. I agree that we need to discuss these teaching issues in more detail. One thing that will make our efforts fruitful is that we all know how the Internet works and what kinds of materials we can find there. This is a strong basis for elaborating new teaching strategies and approaches.
