London!? To visit or not? Are you still thinking about it? Don't hesitate! Find the things that attract or confuse you using the Russian site. |
The site has over 33,000 pages of easy to read information to support learners of all ages. Many of the activities and information on this website are appropriate for both young and old. The topics are various :British culture, British history,Pictorial Facts of the Day etc.. I hope this site is useful and can help to broaden the mind. |
British Look at British Life and Culture
I love the site http://projectbritain.com/ It was developed by British School pupils in response to overseas querries and stereotypes. The teacher can find everything he or she needs, any topic - texts, data, pictures, and more. I like the Questions and Answers section. The target langauge level is intermediate and over. The materials can be shown to your students at the lesson through the multimedia projector. You will also find interactive options and contact the moderators of the site. It's very simple in use. |
Learn More About British Life!
I have used this site several times in my teaching. When click on http://www.anglik.net/britishlife.htm you find clear rubrics on different aspects of life in Great Britain - Televison, British Comedy, Cinema, Music, Holidays, Festivals, Sport, Religion, Education, Government, Geograpgy, Legends and more. The interface of the site is rather simple. When you click on any of the rubrics, you get a page with photos that represent some aspects of life in GB. Run through the page, choose a picture, click on it and read about the topic. Some links take you to text files. It's very easy to copy and paste the information. The site can be used for British Study classes at the intermdiate level. It's not necessary to print out the materials. Just decide what to use and let the students explore and report in class working online. |
